CBD flower: which one to choose?

There is a quantity of CBD flowers available on the market, with features that will lose some uninitiated. Sativa, Indica, Greenhouse, Outdoor, Outdoor, 4%.. If you don’t find yourself in this jargon and can’t choose your CBD flowers, follow the guide: we explain everything about CBD flowers in this article.

Sort information

When we want to buy CBD flowers, we are first confronted with a little barbaric words... but they are important. They must first be differentiated in two types of information:

  • The flower species in practice, two main subspecies of cannabis are distinguished: Sativa and Indica (or hybrid in some cases)

  • The way of culture There are currently three main crop environments: Greenhouse, Outdoor and Indoor.

You will also often find one percentage following this information: this is the rate of CBD present in the flower. The higher it is, the stronger the effects.

Sativa, Indica: Different Effects by Species

As explained above, there are two main subspecies of cannabis: Sativa and Indica. If a flower remains a flower, the effects are very different from one species to another. The varieties of Indica grow at altitude, mainly in countries known for their haschisch culture such as Morocco, Afghanistan, Turkey and Nepal. They produce more easily a relaxation effect, calming stress and mood. The flowers of CBD Indica are suitable for a quiet evening, alone, with friends or in love.

Conversely sativa cannabis varieties originally grow around the equator and can be found in Colombia, Mexico, Thailand and several African countries. They promote brain activity and often provide stimulating and energizing effects. The flowers of CBD Sativa are more suitable for use in the day or in the festive evening.

Greenhouse, Indoor, Outdoor: The Importance of Culture

We distinguish 3 main modes of culture cBD flowers:

- The Outdoor

- The Indoor

- The Greenhouse

Culture Outdoor is the most natural way to cultivate hemp, either outside. Light intake is more important. The watering is done by the rain or water of the groundwater. The Outdoor culture mode has many advantages: a natural culture mode, higher yields, character buds with raw flavors and developed aromas, and low prices. Among the disadvantages are smaller and less perfect buds, with more leaves that surround the flower; a climate-dependent culture (violent rains, drought, pests, pests...) and a longer production cycle (one crop per year).

The plantations Indoor are carried out inside in huge hangars. These flowers are often considered high-end.

Producers have total control over the entire production process. The Indoor culture mode has several advantages: the flowers exhibit very nice compact and voluminous buds with intense flavors; it is a high quality product, and one can make several crops a year. On the other hand, it is a more expensive product, its ecological footprint is more important than other practices, and the start investment is heavy and production costs are high.

I mean term Greenhouse means a greenhouse culture. It combines the advantages of outdoors and indoors. Plants benefit from the sun and natural lands, while being protected from weather. The greenhouse creates a microclimate around the plantations.

Producers have control over crop parameters and can intervene on the plant life cycle. Greenhouse culture combines the benefits of indoors and outdoors: one can do several crops a year, the approach is much more environmentally friendly and less expensive than indoor culture, and the flowers are more compact and larger than outdoors with terpedic profiles of beautiful qualities.

But then... what flower to choose?

Everything depends on the effect you are looking for. If the culture mode affects mainly producers, the consumer will often focus on the flower species (Sativa or Indica) to make its choice. If you are looking for a relaxing effect, to fight your sleep disorders, stress or chronic pain, the Indica dominant flowers will be your allies. On the other hand, if you want a concentration effect that promotes brain activity, it is to the predominant Sativa flowers that you will have to turn. It should be noted that a lot of flowers combine both species at higher or lower levels.
